260 Days Without Information on Uladzimir Kniha

Uladzimir Kniha is involved in the case of Siarhei Tsikhanouski. He was arrested a few days after the famous rally in Grodno in 2020, during which the police staged provocations against Siarhei Tsikhanouski's team. Kniha, a former representative of security forced, was the blogger's team volunteer. Initially, he was sentenced to 4 years in a high-security colony, and soon after, an additional year was added. During his imprisonment, Uladzimir Kniha was transferred to a prison regime.

For 260 days, there has been no contact with the political prisoner. Parcels are not accepted, and lawyers are not allowed to see him. He is kept incommunicado, with no contact with the outside world. Furthermore, as we have learned, Uladzimir Kniha is constantly held in a punishment cell (SHIZO). Unfortunately, his case is yet another terrible example of torture and cruel treatment of prisoners in today’s Belarus.

Others currently held incommunicado include:
  • Mikalai Statkevich – 468 days;
  • Maksim Znak – 465 days;
  • Maryia Kalesnikava – 463 days;
  • Ihar Losik – 458 days;
  • Siarhei Tsikhanouski – 441 days;
  • Viktar Babaryka – 392 days.
