Today, December 18, the world celebrates the International Day of Migrants. On this day, exactly 30 years ago, the UN General Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrants and Members of Their Families.

Over the past 20 years, more than 1 million Belarusians have left abroad in search of new opportunities and a better life. For many of them, one of the main reasons for migration was dissatisfaction with the existing political regime in their homeland.

The number of forced migrants from Belarus began to increase exponentially after the rigged elections on August 9 and the subsequent harsh repression against peaceful protesters.

The authorities, unrecognized by the people of Belarus, are doing everything so that the best minds and talents leave the country and thus enrich the society of other states from the economic, social and cultural points of view.

Some naively believe that migrants from Belarus use political motives in order to find a profitable job in one of the European countries and forget about the problems that exist in their homeland forever. But we, employees of the “Country for Life” Foundation, who are forced migrants for the most part, perfectly understand the reasons why Belarusians leave the country.

Many of us ourselves faced imprisonment for participating in the activities of the joint headquarters. And we, like no one else, do not want innocent people who defended their right to freedom of speech, choice and self-expression in pre-trial detention centers and prisons for far-fetched reasons.

If the only way out to save a person who is subjected to political repression is to export him abroad, we are ready to help with this.

Our foundation assists in the preparation of documents for obtaining visas, organizing the safe removal of a person from Belarus and his placement abroad (providing housing, retraining, assistance in organizing payments)

We hope that our migration is a temporary phenomenon and we will all soon return home to a new free Belarus!
