Volha Zazulinskaya will speak at the "New Belarus" Conference in Vilnius

On August 3-4, the "New Belarus" conference will be held in Vilnia.

During the conference, there will be discussions across 8 panels with the participation of experts and activists who will share their opinions and proposals regarding the future of the country. Volha Zazulinskaya, the head of "A Country to Live in" foundation, will take part in Panel No. 6 titled "Actions for Political Prisoners in 2025: From Release to Rehabilitation."

During the discussion, the speakers will talk about:
  • comprehensive assistance programs for both political prisoners who are still behind bars and those who have been released;
  • real opportunities and challenges they face in their work;
  • rehabilitation and resocialization of released political prisoners and how this works in practice;
  • the results of work within the framework of the strategic dialogue on political prisoners;
  • the strategy for the release of political prisoners;
  • the results of the work for 2024 and plans for 2025.

  • Leanid Sudalenka / Representative of "Viasna", human rights activist, former political prisoner
  • Aliaksei Liavonchik / Founder and head of the BY_Help campaign, co-founder of the BYSOL foundation and the Humanitarian Ambulance Service service
  • Alana Gebremariam / Former political prisoner, community manager of politzek.me, member of the "Youth Thrust" list of the Coordination Council
  • Aliaksandr Kabanau / Member of the Coordination Council's "Vola" list, former political prisoner, blogger, representative of the BELPOL initiative
The discussion will be moderated by journalist Sabina Alieva ("Tribuna").

Additionally, there will be a presentation of the International Humanitarian Aid Fund during the panel.

Presenters Volha Zazulinskaya and Aliaksei Liavonchik will explain what it is, how it differs from all other programs, how the fund was established, and how it will help Belarusians.
